In ‘Bulletproof: A Lesbian’s Guide to Surviving the Plot,’ filmmaker Regan Latimer takes an insightful, immersive and personal look at queer representation on television and media’s power to shape how we see ourselves. Witty, fast-paced and laced with pop culture references, Regan journeys across North America and beyond in her quest to understand the forces that influence the stories we see on our screens. Original animation and personal anecdotes are interwoven with wide ranging conversations with television insiders, LGBTQ+ community advocates and people who just love to watch TV. As Latimer navigates an ever-evolving media landscape, the filmmaker learns first hand that representation done well has the power to transform.

Director’s Biography
Regan Latimer brings a dynamic blend of directing, writing, and editing skills to her independent filmmaking. With notable projects like the digital series ‘B.J. Fletcher: Private Eye,’ which earned over 16 million views and secured distribution on Logo Network/MTV, Regan has shown a distinct knack for crafting compelling and entertaining narratives that resonate widely.

Her directorial work includes short films ‘Lindy Calls Tracy’ and ‘Harmony Love Matches for Life Inc.,’ with ‘Lindy Calls Tracy’ premiering at Toronto’s Inside Out Film Fest and screening at festivals worldwide. As a freelance video production specialist, Regan also runs her own production company, Bee Charmer Productions, working closely with a diverse range of clients creating impactful visual narratives. Notably, she’s edited Emmy award-winning promo spots for Colorado’s Rocky Mountain PBS, and done promotional work for brands such as Hershey, Toyota, and Luminato, as well as being part of the editing team for the mind-altering documentary, ‘The Divided Brain.’

Regan’s commitment to innovative storytelling extends beyond the camera. She co-founded the Independent Web Series Creators of Canada, served as Producer and Programming Director for the inaugural Toronto Web Series Festival , and has shared insights as a speaker and panelist at festivals and events worldwide.
